Democracy Deconstructed is my personal blog. Some posts are more like journal entries while others are my thoughts about the world. As you may have guessed from the name, understanding American democracy through breaking it down into its component parts is this blog’s central subject. I try to do this without perpetuating the conventional left-right view of American politics. I don’t find that to be a useful way to describe how people actually think about politics. Instead, I try to look beyond the surface level political conversation and see the broader historical context in which we find ourselves.
Thanks for reading and please reach out if you want to discuss anything I’ve written, especially if you disagree!
